Edna Marie Scott passed away April 1, 2021 at home in Dawson Creek, BC at the age of 80 years.
Edna was born to Edwin & Adah (Kelley) Hanvold February 7, 1941 at home down by the river near Steen, Saskatchewan. A younger sister to Clarence, Irvin, Marvin, Art, Rita, older sister to Irene, Vyrle, Lorraine, Elaine & Everett. Edna attended several schools growing up as the family travelled for her dads jobs. Edna was a hard worker and helped her mom with younger siblings until she left Saskatchewan for BC (looking for work) with her older brother Irv. Edna met Buster Scott in Dawson Creek and they were married in 1958.
Edna was a homemaker whom deeply loved all 5 of her children, Helen, Marvel, Rolland, Randy, Milton and was proud of each and everyone as they left home to begin careers and families.
Edna was predeceased by her loving husband Buster (Red), son Rolland, her father, mother, 8 siblings and mother and father-in-law.
She leaves to mourn her children;
Helen Scott (Larry Urness), Marvel (Daryl) Hurd, Randy Scott, Milton (Tracey) Scott

In-laws; Arlene (Gordon) Girvan, Marvel (Hugh) Blachford, Myles (Charlette) Scott
Auntie to numerous nieces and nephews
Edna & Buster raised their family on an acreage a few miles out of Dawson Creek. They grew a massive garden and Edna especially loved the flowers while the vegetables and berries were work. Fall meant picking, freezing and making jam.
Spring meant planting seeds, baby chicks arriving at the post office and wiener pigs. Many a visit had nieces and nephews raiding the garden with their cousins, eating saskatoons or playing games like kick the can.
Edna enjoyed bowling in coffee leagues, family league & held a 200+ average for many years. She played guitar and sang with her children & introduced yodeling to some of the people at dialysis in FSJ and also had Ednas Biscuit named for her.
After Buster passed away she moved into her apartment. She loved to grab a coffee and go driving, listening to Willies Roadhouse on Sirius radio by herself, or with a friend.
Edna had PKD (genetic Polycystic Kidney Disease) and after a kidney transplant expired, she spent 7 years on hemodialysis where she had to make trips to FSJ 3x/week. She far exceeded the Doctors life expectancy and several weeks ago she was told she couldnt continue Community Dialysis in FSJ because she lived on her own in DC. Given options of moving to Prince George or Fort St John, Edna was firm on not leaving her home, children or friends and chose to discontinue dialysis.
Edna spent a week soaking up love and saying goodbye in a celebration of life, with her present. There were photo shoots as children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her big brother and friends visited. Her little sister chatted via Facetime and she had phone calls from Busters siblings one last time.
Shed say, Im ok, or Ive pulled the plug.
A chest of family photographs sat in the living room, grandchildrens artwork that shed put in a book, games played and stories shared. Then her time with us sadly ended April 1, 2021 on her terms.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
