Obituary of Doreen May Greenwood
Doreen May Greenwood was born on April 24, 1940 in New Westminster, British Columbia, the daughter of John and Anne Seibold. She was the third born of five siblings.
In 1959 she met and married John Greenwood on Valentine's Day, her partner of 50 years.
Doreen and John spent many years living in different places before settling down in the Chetwynd area. Doreen and John became Ministers and planted many churches. Doreen had a great love for God and for people. She was never one to shy away of her faith. Doreen's last church was the Northern Lights Christian Fellowship in Chetwynd, BC.
Doreen loved to smile and she would light up a room when she walked in. Friendships were so important to her. She treasured her friends and her church family. Doreen spent many days with the ladies having coffee and socializing at the local A&W. She will be dearly missed by them all.
On July 28th, 2010 the heavens opened up for Doreen and she was immediately ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savoir. She is no longer suffering and she will live on through her children and those whose lives she touched.
Doreen was predeceased by her father John and Anne Siebold, her husband John Greenwood, her brother Harold Siebold and her grandson Kristopher.
Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her sons Mike Greenwood, Wayne Greenwood and her daughter Heidi Greenwood, her brother Lennard (Becky Seibold), sisters Darlene (Gordon) Banta, Sandi (Dave) Ash, grandchildren Jonathon, Marcy, Chelsey, Jennifer, David, Wesley, Michelle, Kolton, Sarah, Kirsten, Ashlin, Nickeisha and two great grandchildren, Teigan and Reid. She also will be missed by many nieces and nephews and friends.
A celebration of Doreen's life was held on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Chetwynd Fellowship Baptist Church, Reverend Earl Wood officiated, interment followed at the Tuscoola Mountain Cemetery.
