Obituary of Garry Arnold Weipert
Garry was born on June 27, 1953 in Dawson Creek, B.C. to Ted & Alice Weipert.
The family moved to a farm in East Doe River in 1956 where Garry spent most of his youth. In 1970 the family moved to Pouce Coupe, and Garry began his work life with the BC Forestry Services, he fought fires and planted trees. He continued on to gain work experience in the Construction Industry. Taught by his brothers, he excelled on how to run heavy equipment.
Over Garry's lengthy career in construction he worked throughout BC, Northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories. For the last twenty years Garry was employed with DGS Astro Paving here in Dawson Creek. His co-workers described him as loyal, hard working and kind. During this time Garry was awarded on several occasions for his outstanding safety record.
When Garry wasn't working you could find him fishing and hunting with his family and friends. He also loved to spend time socializing, playing pool and cards.
Throughout the years Garry was a support for his mother Alice, living with her in Pouce Coupe and in Dawson Creek.
On August 10, 2010 Garry was diagnosed with Leukemia, he went to Edmonton University of Alberta Hospital and received two chemo therapy treatments. His medical condition regressed rapidly and on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 he passed away.
Garry has joined in his passing his Father Ted, Brother Brian as well as other family members and friends. Garry leaves to mourn; his mother Alice, his eleven siblings; Therese, Ray, Bob, Orv, Mel, Marilyn, Gale, Cathy, Doris, Kevin and Barry, his in-laws, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Garry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel, Reverend Elizabeth Gillott officiated, interment followed in the Riverview Cemetery, Pouce Coupe, B.C.
