Obituary of Ronald Stredulinsky

Ron was born Ronald Francis Stredulinsky on October 20, 1944 in Grande Prairie, Alberta he was the second son born to Frank and Frances. Ron went to the South Swan Lake School out on the One Island Lake Road until he got his first job in the logging industry. In 1967, Ron met Estelle and they were married that year. Ron and Estelle moved away from their homestead up North to settle and start their family in Burton B.C. Robert their son, was born in Sept of 1968. In Feb of 1971 they had their 2nd child, Thoreen. Though Ron and Estelle divorced, they remained great friends and were always supportive of their children. Over the years Ron worked for several logging and construction companies spending a lot of his time working and making friends in the numerous camps that he was at. Around the Arrow Lakes area Ron worked for Ron Noyes and Mouse Mattchet. It was around this time he affectionately became known as "Stred" by his coworkers and friends in Nakusp B.C. Ron worked for Galena Bay Construction as a cat operator up until the time he decided to come back up North and work for HF Nodes Construction. Ron met Lori Johnson in Nakusp BC. They enjoyed boating and fishing along all the many routes of Arrow Lakes. With Ron working the winters up North they decided to move to Tomslake and in 2005 they were married. They spent many hours quadding around the backwoods of his old homestead and up and down many cutlines. It was not unusual to find him at a campfire at the homestead. Just sitting around enjoying himself and taking in the nature that surrounded him. At his homestead he found peace and you were always welcome to join him in a conversation and a beverage. Ron always found time to be with his family and friends. He was loyal, trust worthy and dependable. He never asked anybody for help, but was always there for us. Ron was always a hard worker. His family was the most important thing in his life. He will be missed by his mother Frances, wife Lori, Children; Robert (Sherry), Thoreen (Chris) Schippmann, Grandchildren; Hailey and Jordan Stredulinsky, Cali Schippmann, Siblings; Irene (Jerry) Taylor, Gordon (Vera) Stredulinsky, Carrol (Ron) Wyant, Don (Cindy) Stredulinsky, Judy (Jack) McPherson, AuntVivian Goodvin, Uncle Emil and Auntie Bella Stredulinsky, Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and his best friend Zeke. Ron was predeceased by his father Frank Stredulinsky. Ron passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 in Dawson Creek, B.C. at the age of 65 years. A memorial service was held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel, Pauline Haycock officiated; interment will be at a later date.
