Obituary of Larry Eugene Edinger

Larry was born July 24, 1949 in Dawson Creek, B.C. Larry was the Eldest son of Roy and Pauline Edinger. He is predeceased by his mother, Pauline and father Roy, and brother Earl. Larry leaves behind his two daughters, Melodie (Tom) Demyen and Sandra (Doug) Edinger, his brother Ron, two grandsons, Leslie and Damian as well as his nieces and a nephew and many friends. Larry was multitalented; he was a truck driver, mechanic and a union worker. Although Larry spent a lot of time working he always had time to be a fun loving father and a caring grandfather. Larry enjoyed the small town life where he was most comfortable His choice was to raises his girls in a small town to have the same experiences of growing up in a close community. Larry was close with his mother and father and always made sure he was in contact with them wherever his journeys took him. Melodie and Sandra recall their father having a hard time putting words to how he felt, but they always knew by the look he gave them and the smile on his face, he was proud of his girls. Many people may not have known how sensitive and caring Larry really was. He was always willing to help those in need and put others before himself. Larry was a story teller and had a way of telling stories that made you laugh. Most of his story included his everyday life. He also had a unique laugh that included a wink and a quick nod and he had the ability to laugh at himself. His friends were also an important part of his life. He always made the most of each visits with his friends, which would always end in many of his stories later on. He enjoyed displaying his talent with his buddies by playing his guitar. His daughters also enjoyed listening to their father play. Larry liked a simple life and had fun in whatever he did. However, he did have many challenges but was always able to overcome them with a smile. Everything Larry done in his life was like a new adventure. This included his skills as an accomplished mechanic/handyman as he would take on the most challenging task with some success. Larry would not want his family and friends to mourn or be sad of his passing but to celebrate his life as he did. Larry passed away on December 20, 2010 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 61 years. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Chapel. Reverend Marilyn Carroll officiated, interment followed in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery.
