Obituary of Rodney Lee Taylor

Rodney Lee Taylor 1964 - 2010 Rodney Lee Taylor was born in Fort St John, British Columbia, on November 3, 1964 to parents Jean and John Taylor. He is a long time resident of Taylor, BC and was raised in the South Taylor area and attended both South and North Taylor Elementary Schools. He also attended Dr Kearney Junior High, and North Peace Secondary School before completing his high school education at Rainbow Lake School. Rod was the youngest of 16 children and took his duties as a pesky little brother seriously. Kathy remembers when he had a broken arm; he would take the cast off to torment her by poking at her with it. He also took the cast off so he could go swimming in the back channel, then would put it on again before going home so the parents wouldn't know that he had been swimming. Rod loved to play sports, especially a good game of hockey, golf or softball. While always competitive at whatever sport being played, Rod took great delight in defeating his family, especially Don on the golf course. Rod was outgoing, fun loving, always had a joke or a wise crack and had the gift to be able to lighten the mood, and always ready to meet and make new friends. Rod worked in the automotive industry working at Ford Motors and Kal Tire in Fort St. John and Peace River Ford in Peace River. Rod is predeceased by his parents Jean and John, brothers Douglas and Robert, grandparents, aunts, uncles and niece Penny. Rod will be missed by his wife Paula, son Brayden, daughters Jennifer (Sam)Van Volkinburgh and Danica, grandsons Adrian and Jaxxson, sisters Joan, Shirley (Jamie), Barbara (George), Pat, Dianne (Gord), Dennice (Gerry), Marlene (Al), and Kathy (Andy), brothers Don (Lorane), Ken (Jan), Dave (Jen), Tom (Gail), and Ted (Di), as well as Paula's family Ron and Darlene Adam, her two brothers, and three sisters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rod passed away in Peace River, Alberta on December 22, 2010 at 46 years of age. He will be missed by all who knew him. A funeral serivice was held on December 30, 2010 at the Taylor Community Hall, Taylor, British Columbia with Peggy Bergeron officiating. Interment followed in the Peace Valley Cemetery, Taylor, British Columbia.
