Obituary of Alfred James Reay

Alfred James Reay was born on Saturday, January 1, 1944 in Coylton, Ayrshire, Scotland to William and Margaret (Nee Robertson) Reay. The family came to Canada in 1945. Alfred's parents divorced in 1952. Alfred moved to Nova Scotia with his father and four brothers. The family then moved to Blueberry Mountain, Alberta and to Silver Valley, Alberta. After leaving Silver Valley he moved to Dawson Creek, BC. Alfred met and married Irene Konopad. They had one daughter Angela, born in 1974. Irene and Alfred were divorced in 1982. His career had consisted mainly as an Equipment operator working in road construction, and on various oil leases and seismic line construction. Alfred is survived by his Daughter; Angela, Grandchildren; Keilah and Vincent, Brothers; Dave (Bev), Billy, Harry (Giselle), Charles (Debra), Bruce, Alexander (Shirley) and James (Heather), Sisters; Sheena, Doris (Jim), Betty (Jerry), and Edith, Very good friends; Fred and Jean, Ted and Lynn, numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his Parents; Margaret and William, Brothers; John, Douglas, Malcolm, Norman, Donald, and Allan and Nephew; John Jr. Alfred passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011, at the age of 67 years, at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC. With respect to Alfred's wishes no formal funeral service will be held at this time. Alfred will be laid to rest beside his family in the Blueberry Mountain Cemetery, Blueberry Mountain, Alberta.
