Obituary of Wilburt John Cornthwaite
Wilburt John Cornthwaite"RED" was a long time resident of Dawson Creek BC, formerly of 100 Mile House. He was born on October 16, 1935 in Pouce Coupe, BC to the proud parents of Thomas and Luise Cornthwaite. They were also blessed with another son Maurice.
Red grew up on a farm in the East Pouce Coupe District. Life never seemed to be lacking adventure. From the old school house, horses, traveling, and life experiences, the stories never ended. With the words of wisdom and knowledge at his side, he set off to the challenges of life. He met his wife Joyce and they raised two sons, whom they taught the family traditional values to.
In his leisure time Red enjoyed camping, fishing (especially in Alaska for salmon which became a bi-annual event), hunting in his earlier days, as well as outdoor activities involving nature and driving to take in the scenery.
During his working career he held different positions at various workplaces. He was fortunate to develop a career with Ainsworth Lumber in 100 Mile House, BC. Red retired as a Saw Filer/Millwright.
Red passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Dawson Creek, BC at the age of 75 years.
He will be greatly missed, and your memories will live on thru us, and all who knew and loved you. May you rest in peace, and your memories live on.
Red is survived by his loving Wife; Joyce of 39 years, Sons; Kenneth (Tracey), Shawn (Jennifer), and Granddaughter; Kassidy.
