Obituary of Angelina Courtoreille
Angelina Evelyn Mary Courtorielle was born on Wednesday, November 25, 1931 at Jackfish Lake BC. She was the eldest daughter of Fred and Mary Courtorielle.
Evelyn, as she was known to her family spent most of her childhood and as a young adult in Moberly Lake, BC with her parents, and sisters, Ethel, Catherine, Erna, Ivy, and Rosemary and two brothers, Roy and Leo Courtorielle.
She recalls many good memories of home life with her mom and dad. Angelina's father was a skilled traditional hunter, trapper, camp cook, and self-taught carpenter who built their family home at Moberly Lake. Her mother, Mary was a skilled homemaker and loved family and home life. She later retired and wrote a book titled"Mooseroast and Rosaries."
When Angelina was old enough to go to school in Moberly Lake, she stayed with her grandparents, Martha and Harry Garbitt to be nearer to school. She recalled many happy times with her grandparents. Angelina had to leave school to help out at home. At the young age of 16 years, she left to go to work in Dawson Creek at one of the restaurants as a waitress. She worked there for several years, and then moved to Edmonton where she got married and had three children, Ernie, Marie, and Sonny.
A few years later, Angelina moved to Vancouver where she took training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Angelina completed her training and graduated with high marks and honors. She started volunteering at the mission in Hastings working with the street people cooking, ministering, and gathering clothing for them.
This volunteer work with the street people eventually led her on an Evangelistic mission overseas to Manila, Phillipines, Lyderobad, India, Calcutta, Bangkok, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Angelina helped to start a mission and orphanage for children, which was named after her, Angeline Mission. In 1997, she was ordained an Evangelist minister the same year she retired from her job, and moved back home to Moberly Lake, BC. From home, Angelina continued her passion and that is ministering, preaching, healing and teaching all over Canada.
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, she is a great inspiration to all who knew her and how she lived her life with joy, happiness, and purpose.
