Obituary of Hilda Landsfried

Hilda was born Hildegard Amalie Haeckl on Tuesday, January 19, 1926 in Oberleutensdorf, Czechoslovakia to William and Marianne Haeckl. At the tender age of thirteen, Hilda and her parents immigrated to Canada. Hilda and her family homesteaded their land in Tomslake, BC until the fall of 2003, when living in the country became too much of a challenge. Hilda spent the next seven years in Grande Prairie, Alberta so she could be close to her daughter Margaret. During this time, her son Rudi spent every summer visiting and maintaining her home. For her final journey Hilda moved to Quesnel, BC so her daughter Linda could care for her in her home. Hilda joined the angels of eternal rest peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, March 18, 2011, at the age of 85 years. Hilda was predeceased by her loving Husband; of 63 years Rudolf in May 2005. Hilda is survived by her Son; Rudi, Daughters; Linda and Margaret, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. It always amazed Hilda that from the seeds of herself and her husband, a family of twenty-nine members could spring. Hilda, Mother, Grandma, and Oma will be missed by all her family and friends. A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:00 am from Reynars Funeral Chapel in Dawson Creek, BC. Pastor Ruth Czerniak officiated. Hilda will be laid to rest with her husband Rudolf in the Tomslake Cemetery. For friends so wishing donations may be made in memory of Hilda to a Charity of Choice. Very Respectfully Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
