Obituary of Keith Peter Thomas McKinnon

Keith Peter Thomas McKinnon was born on July 10, 1937 near North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He was the eldest child of Eleanor and John McKinnon. Keith spent most of his life driving logging trucks in the Kamloops, Williams Lake and Dawson Creek areas. Around 1977, Keith moved north to Rolla, BC, where his mom and step-dad, Ike lived. It was here that he met "His Lady", the love of his life, Evelyn. They spent many good times camping & fishing. After Evelyn's passing, Keith made many trips to Williams Lake to visit his daughter, Juanita and her family. They spent many hours driving the back roads and checking out fishing lakes along the way. Keith, after his many years of driving for a living, became the co-pilot - Juanita the chauffer. It was during one of those trips that he bought his granddaughter, Chance her first fishing rod and gave her a few lures from Grandpa's tackle box, giving her the start for her love of fishing. Over the years Keith became known as "Relic" to his friends and acquaintances. Keith sometimes came across as a grizzly bear but if you got to know him he was a real teddy bear. Keith loved to tinker, whether it be with wood or vehicles. He made several nice masterpieces out of wood. He would often head to Delbert's shop to talk about vehicles. Keith passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 in Pouce Coupe, B.C. at the age of 74 years. He is predeceased by his dad, mom, step-dad and his sister, Emily. He is survived by his daughter; Juanita (Kevin) and her children; Bailey, Brody and Chance, Son; Lloyd (Teresa) and their children; Tyson and Chase, Daughter; Leona (Glenn) and their children; Brandy, Brittany, Son; Noel (Marlo) and their children; Allison and Amy, brother; Calvin, Sisters; Hazel and Verna and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Keith's friends Delbert and Donna Cornish, Dr. Hellyar, the nurses and staff at the Peace River Haven for the excellent care Keith received and Richard and his wonderful staff at Reynars Funeral Home. With respect to his wishes, no formal funeral service will be held.
