The family moved to Dawson Creek in 1974. Beatrix worked at the Park Hotel as a desk clerk. She enjoyed the hotel business so much it inspired to go back to school at the age of forty to get her business diploma, which was one of her accomplishments that she was so proud. Her most cherished accomplishment however was and always will be the raising of her 5 children and granddaughter. When asked what was one of your fondest memories, Beatrix answered "it was looking at my children for the first time after they were born."
Her most recent and greatest joys in life, was her store "The Trading Post". She had owned that store for twenty three years, and she had made thousands of items that are all over the world. Beatrix never had enough time in the day to do everything she wanted to. She loved teaching herself how to do new things, and if she tried it she finished it.
For Beatrix her children were everything and then the 26 grandchildren came along and every single one of them also filled her heart with love and pride, then the great grandchildren, her heart always had more love to share and give.
