Obituary of Rose Marie McCurdy

Rose Marie McCurdy was born on November 25, 1963 to Don and Florence McCurdy. She was the 6th child of 9. Rose loved camping and fishing was going to buy a motor home so she could just hop in and go - a true picture of her free spirit. Rose was always straight forward and easy going. She enjoyed going out dancing and listening to music with her partner of 11 years, Allan Smith. Rose had a good friend Bob Johnson, father to the girls. He was a big supporter, a shoulder to lean on and always willing to help with the girls and grandchildren. Many times you could find Rose at 'coffee time' at the Lodge with her friends and family. If her grandkids came along and if they were good, they got to go to the dollar store to pick out a gift. Rose worked in housekeeping for Northern Health. She enjoyed the work and the challenge working at the hospital, but mostly she enjoyed her great friends and co-workers. Rose passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the age of 48 years. A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 1:00 pm from Reynars Funeral Home. Pauline Haycock officiated. Interment followed in the Dawson Creek City Cemetery. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Florence and Don and brother, Jim. She is survived by her partner, Allan, daughters; Connie (Myles), Jennifer (Josh), Pamila (Chad), grandchildren; Gavin, Naomi, Enna, Griffen & Baily. Rose will be missed by all those she touched by her life...but will be living on in those she influenced by example. Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
