Obituary of Saima Justiina Makela
Saima Justiina Makela (Flander)was born on Friday, January 31, 1913 in Ylistaro, Finalnd to Juho and Maria Flander. She married Frans I. Makela and they had ten children all born in Finland. They immigrated to Canada in February of 1956.
Saima, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2011 at the home of Peter and Elsa Vesaniemi of Dawson Creek, B.C. at the age of 98 years. She was surrounded by her family and granddaughters, Maijia and Hanna, son Oliver and great granddaughter Mackenzie.
God had blessed us with a Loving and caring mom, gramma, great gramma and great great gramma. She leaves a wonderful legacy and we will keep her memory alive in our hearts...

Saima leaves to mourn, Eric (Eero) & Milka of Kamloops, B.C. Markku & Linda of Dawson Creek, B.C. Veikko & Marnie of Slave Lake, Alberta, Maija & Frank of Burnaby, B.C. Elsa & Peter of Dawson Creek, B.C. Sisko & Dave of Burnaby, B.C. Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.
With respect to Saima's wishes no formal funeral service will be held.
