Obituary of William Franklin Taylor
Bill (William) Taylor was born in Curve Lake, Ontario. His band, The Trademen, travelled all over Ontario for 35 years. At one point, Johnny Cash asked him to go on the road with his band, but he refused. While in his teens, he met Jayne Walker, they dated and then went their separate ways. Then in 2000, they met again and he moved to BC. Bill loved music and fishing and was well known as 'George Jones' of the Peace Country. Jayne and Bill travelled to many music festivals around the area and he wrote a song for Jayne called "The Oil Well Song". He touched many with his songs and music.
Bill was predeceased by Parents; Henry and Olive Taylor, Sisters; Barb Knott, and Liza-Jane Taylor.
Bill is survived by his loving Companion; Jayne Walker, Daughters; Victoria, Denise, and Angela, Sister; Agnes, Brothers; Henry, Winston and Meritt.
Bill passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Dawson Creek, at the age of 74 years.
A Musical celebration of Bill's life was held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Groundbirch Community Hall.
