Obituary of Ryan Shawn Rodney Ouelette
On January 13th of 1983 we as a family celebrated the birth of Ryan Shawn Rodney Ouelette. A smiling 8lbs 8 oz baby boy. What joy this little boy brought to both Shawn and Grace and his extended family. Ryan from birth had a smile that left each of us smiling even today, and will always be remembered.
Ryan as child lived in many communities, which included Vancouver, Whitehorse, Kinuso, Whitecourt, Grand Prairie, and Dawson Creek. At times due his parents working Ryan lived a short period with family.
At the age of two, Ryan welcomed the birth of his baby sister Rena who Ryan adored and was always the ever-protective brother. Always being there for her.
Ryan, at the age of seven lived on acreage in Eagle River and spent many happy days working along side his father Shawn at the Gravel Pit.
Due to a love of old cars by his father, Ryan and Rena attempted to learn to drive a 1973 charger in the backfields, with a stick shift. Driving in reverse at first then finally realizing there was a first gear that went forward. They spent many hours attempting to become experienced drivers. Unfortunately Ryan would never master this and would earn the nickname Crash
Growing up Ryan at the age of 12 played hockey in Whitecourt with a team called the Mighty Macs during the season of 1995-96 an avid player making great progress earning the name Ryan "Here Comes Shack" Ouelette.
Ryan loved the outdoors and spent many happy times skiing with family, hiking or just working out with his Niece; Abigail. He always made time for his family leaving many of us with treasured memories of him playing with the children. He was never too big to get down to their level and take the time to enjoy the little pleasures of life.
Ryan had a love of travelling and would always be on the road to visit family or friends looking for that extra special meal he could sit down to and visit each of them.
Ryan over the years tried many jobs out like slashing, working in the construction field but he always returned to his love of fitness training. Ryan had great compassion for those around him with disabilities and was a true gentleman. He struggled daily to better his life and always had a dream in place of what his next endeavor was to be. Ryan was always trying to share his positive attitude and thoughts along with a little bit of wisdom to those around him to better themselves and to make it through the hard times of life.
Despite all of Ryan's struggles he never took life for granted always having a positive attitude with upbeat status's on facebook of what was happening in his life or maybe just his feeling that day, he shared these thoughts with us all. Ryan' s strong caring hugs were always given freely.
