Obituary of Ella Anna Mounsey
On February 1, 1930 in Pouce Coupe, BC Ella Anna Crull was born into the family of Arthur and Anna Crull, along with siblings Arthur, Rhoda and Theresa. Ella was raised on a farm in Lakeview, a farming community north of Dawson Creek.
Ella met her future husband Francis William Mounsey in Dawson Creek. They dated for two years and were married in Dawson Creek, April 26, 1951. A year later they started their family with the arrival of their daughter Beverley. Later came their two sons Dwain and Randy.
The family moved to Chetwynd in October of 1965 where Ella stayed home to raise their children. They lived in Chetwynd for eight years and then moved to Mt. Lemoray in 1973. They returned in 1983 and set up the homestead east of Chetwynd on Hayward Road.
In 1985 Frank retired and the two spent their time building wishing wells, lawn ornaments and manicuring the lawn and yard.
On May 15, 2001 Frank passed away, Ella stayed at the homestead for 5 years until she decided it was too much and moved to town. Ella lived at the Cottonwood Court until 2010 and then moved into Surerus Place.
Ella will always be remembered for her warm smile and loving heart. She was a calming influence and truly kind and loving soul. Ella was the picture of what a loving wife, mother and grandmother should be. Mom will be missed very much by all her family.
Ella passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Fort St. John, B.C. at the age of 82 years.
A memorial tea was held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the Chetwynd Fellowship Baptist Church.
