Viola Katherine Wiebe came into the world on May 29, 1940 bringing joy to a young couple named Pete and Trudy Wiebe. She was soon joined by brother Virgil and than two sisters, Dorothy and Joy, and then baby brother Vic.
After spending her early childhood in Lost River, near Nipawin, her family moved west, travelling by train, to seek their fortune in the Okanagan Valley. They were blessed with four boys Lorne, Larry, Don, and Dale. In the mid-seventies the family moved to the mining community of Granisle, BC and then finally settling in Silver Valley, AB in the early eighties.
