Obituary of James Frank Martin Smith
James Smith (Jim Sr.) was born in Ashcroft, BC and was raised in the Osoyoos/Bridesville, BC area with his parents, three sisters and his Ritchie-Patterson extended family. In 1968, he moved to Chetwynd, BC.
Jim was a truck driver for most of his working career and retired as a member of the Teamsters Union #213.
Jim was predeceased by his infant son- Frank in 1965, Mother- Hazel, Father -Frank and Sister -Pat.
Jim is survived by his 8 Children, 17 Grandchildren, and 13 Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Darlene (Garth) Kunz, Frances (Florian) Feher; 6 Nieces and Nephews; 2 aunts and many cousins.
Jim passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Grande Prairie, Alberta at the age of 73 years.
A private family interment for Jim was held Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 10:00 am at the Tuscoola Mountain Cemetery. A public celebration tea followed at 11:00am at the Cottonwood Hall, Chetwynd Rec Centre.
