Obituary of Ardella Norine Harper

Ardella Norine Harper 1926 - 2013 Ardella Norine Harper (nee Dahlen) of Dawson Creek, BC passed away on January 2, 2013 at the age of 86 years. Ardella was born February 8, 1926 at Fordville, North Dakota USA. After hearing of the fertile farmland and beauty of the Peace River Country, Ardella's parents Carl and Amelia Dahlen, relocated their family to North Rolla, BC arriving in October 1928. On March 14, 1949 Ardella married Murray Harper and they began their life together on the Harper farm in the Kilkerran district. Ardella and Murray raised six children; Patricia, Brian, Norine, Trevor, Dennis and Maura. After Murray's passing in 2010, Ardella moved from the farm, to her beautiful new home at Chapel Hill Estates in Dawson Creek, BC. Ardella loved her home and enjoyed hosting coffee parties with her new neighbours, relatives and lifelong friends. Ardella cherished her farm life, gardening, crafts and most of all, her family. Ardella was the 2nd oldest charter member of the Grace Lutheran Church as well as a lifelong member of the West Saskatoon Women's Institute. Ardella is survived by her six children, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, 2 sisters in-law and 1 brother in-law as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Ardella's Celebration of Life was held on Saturday January 5, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson Creek, BC. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Ardella may be made to the Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation "Cancer Care Unit".
