Obituary of Ellen Elizabeth Croswell

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. Ellen Elizabeth Turner (always known as Bette) was the youngest of four siblings raised in the rural village of Valhalla Centre, AB by her parents Alex and Winifred Turner. In 1949 she married Percy Croswell and together they farmed their homestead and raised their family. Bette was an active member of the Alberta Women's Institute and the Dawson Creek Hospital Auxiliary. She also loved taking art classes, painting, and needlework. Bette passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013 in Dawson Creek, at the age of 84 years. A memorial service will be held in the Spring at St. James Presbyterian Church, Dawson Creek. Bette was predeceased by her loving husband, Percy Eugene Croswell, infant son; James Michael, infant great grandsons; Kendall Levi, Jesse Percy, Gaige Percy, parents, and siblings. Remaining to honor and enjoy her memory are her children Margaret Jury (Mark), Stephen Croswell (Jane) Audrey Johnston (David) Grandchildren Christine, Kerry, Randy (Barb), Jason (Julie) and Janelle (Mike) and her great grandchildren, Shaylyn, Keenan, Kaylee, Ryann, Noah, Lily, Ethan and Emma. A special thanks to the staff in her home at Rotary Manor for their care, kindness and understanding of her "sassy humour". For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Bette to the Dawson Creek & District Hospital Auxillary 11100-13th Street, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 3W8. Very Respectfully Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium
