Obituary of Patricia Christine Elizabeth Hamilton

Patricia Christine Elizabeth Hamilton was born in England on April 28, 1956. She passed away in Dawson Creek, BC on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Patricia moved with her mother to Canada in 1968. This was a culture shock, as they moved from all the conveniences of town to live on a farm in Groundbirch. Patricia adapted quickly, went to school, made friends, and enjoyed her life in Canada. Her Stepfather Slim Martin was good to her and when he became sick she stayed home to nurse him. When he passed away Patricia went to Northern Lights College obtaining a Long term care diploma. Patricia obtained a job at South Peace Community Resources Society and spent over 20 years helping improve the quality of life for Self Advocates. Her skills were noticed and she went from front line worker to Day Programmer to Program Coordinator to Department Manager for the Community Supports and the Assisted Living Department. Patricia and her mom loved to travel they went to Australia, South America, and many trips to England to visit relatives. Patricia loved animals and adopted many special need pets, doing everything she could to improve their quality of life. Patricia had a wonderful sense of humor and she was compassionate to human and animals alike. She was very private person and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 1:00pm from the Mountain View Cemetery, Groundbirch, BC. Patricia was predeceased by both her Parents, Sister and Stepfather. Patricia is survived by many relatives in England, her close friend, and her dog Chrissie. Very Respectfully Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium.
