Obituary of Marget Clara Olson

Marget Clara Olson was born in Elbow Sask. Dec 3, 1927 to Olea and Nick Olson. Marget with her parents and siblings moved to the North Rolla area in the early 30's and lived on the present farm for the last 75 years. In the early years she loved her horses and of course her cats. Marget had a green thumb especially when it came to her plants inside the house and in the greenhouse. Marget and her brothers Clifford and Magne all belonged to Doe River Square Dance Club. Many of the neighbors joined in with this activity which was enjoyed by all. Marget took Norwegian family history and began translating the information in English and eventually was able to see where it all happened. Marget, her mom, and brother Ole were able to go to Norway and visit all of the relations there in the 1960's. Marget returned for another visit in the late 1990's with her sister Edna and brother Magne. Marget also belonged to the North Rolla Ladies Aide. She always enjoyed being in the company of all the ladies. The family would like to thank the Ladies Aide for providing the lunch. Marget enjoyed doing crafts. She would quilt and embroider with her Mom, knit crochet, weave, and later in years her rug hooking. She loved having company where she would show off her many accomplishments. Presently, Marget was working on a rug at Rotary Manor between times that she wasn't busy with all of the activities she was involved with. Marget used to bake her own bread and Norwegian pastry filling the house with a wonderful aroma. Getting the recipe from her was a bit challenging as her instructions where "Oh a little of this , little of that, pinch of this, pinch of that ." Somehow she always had the correct amount, everyone else not so much. Marget and her brother Magne moved into Dawson a short two years ago due to health problems. She would get after Magne and get him going to activities. At any time if she wasn't in her room you could find her in Magne's room as long as there wasn't any activities happening at the time. Marget wouldn't hesitate in telling you if you were visiting her that it was activity time and she had to get going. She would grumble about no activities on the weekend, Marvin told her well there wasn't any activities on the farm for 80 years, Marget smiled and giggled. Marget enjoyed her time at Rotary Manor, and all the staff. We thank the staff for the kind care that Marget received.
