Obituary of Edward Lewis Moore
Edward Moore, a long time resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013 in Dawson Creek, at the age of 88 years.
Edward was born on April 10, 1924 in Lavoy, Alberta to parents Willard Moore and Louise Zigenbien. Their family was homesteading from Minot, North Dakota on their way to the Peace Country. He was the youngest of three sons, with older brothers Melvin and Ralph.
Ed worked at Northern Meats in Spittals and later at CN stores for more than 20 years. He later worked as a custodian for School District 59. Edward retired from Canalta Elementary and treasured all the children he met throughout his career. Ed was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was a proud member of the Loyal Edmonton Regiment since 1942.
Edward will be remembered as a treasured father, grandfather, great grandfather, colleague and trusted friend.
Edward is survived by; his loving wife Gwen, daughter Judy, grandchildren Tracey (Chris), and Todd (Tabitha) Logan, his four great grandchildren Kaelan, Nolan, Ryan and Janna, along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM from Reynars Funeral Chapel, Captain Roger Lee officiated, interment will be held at a later date.
