Obituary of Aitch Sinjun Johnson

Aitch Sinjun Johnson 1970 - 2013 Aitch Sinjun Johnson was born on September 20, 1970 in Dawson Creek to Dale and Penny Johnson. His brother Earl was born in 1973 and then in 1993, Aitch was thrilled to discover he had an older brother, Greg Lord who had been born to Penny in 1964. Except for a year spent living in Tucson, Arizona, Aitch's schooling was mainly in Dawson Creek where he graduated from South Peace Senior Secondary in 1988. He studied for a year at Grande Prairie College, worked at Louisiana Pacific, and became an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer through Northern Lights College in 1998. He went on to work in the aircraft industry in Fort St John, Kelowna, and Edmonton. He also learned dry walling and house painting working with David Astrope. Recently Aitch obtained his Truck Driving License with Northern Lights College and was about to embark on a new career. Aitch studied Tae Kwon Do and boxing with Ray House and fought successfully in many heavy weight competitions. In the last 3 years, Aitch began to study with Ray again and was also employed by him - this time studying and practicing Zen and the Art of Drywall Hanging! Aitch credited his mentor Ray, with helping him find the serenity that led to his last few years being so happy. Aitch's parents, Penny and Dale want to mention that it was his teenage friendship with Tony Costa that gave Aitch the confidence to evolve into the man he became. Back in the 1980s, if Tony Costa was your friend, no one dared mess with you! Aitch had a "steel trap" memory for people's names, birth dates, and anniversaries. Family and friends could rely on him for accurate details on "who, what, when, and where." There were many people who Aitch considered his heroes. However the ones he talked of the most were: Bruce Lee, Muhammad Ali, Che Guevara, and, of course, Tony Soprano! Loyalty and respect were two qualities Aitch most valued in his friendships. Many people saw Aitch as one tough individual who could be hard on the people who crossed him, but he was not a bully despite being tormented by bullies in his early teens. He knew its destructive effect first hand and was a strong supporter of the drive to prevent bullying in schools. Taking responsibility for his two beloved dogs, Athena and Felony led to huge changes in Aitch's life. The highlight of these changes was falling in love with his soul mate, Bonnie Linsley. The two were so in love and good for each other. The love just radiated from them both. At the beginning of March, Aitch and Bonnie went on a magical "pre-honeymoon" to Cuba. They came back with plans to return there and be married. Aitch's uncle, Jeremy Shotton, saluted his nephew saying that Aitch's second name, Sinjun was most appropriate since Aitch was no saint! However, Jeremy added that he was a remarkable man: kind, loving, and full of courage. There is not much of Aitch's type of courage in our modern world. No matter what life dealt him, he never felt sorry for himself. Aitch was a Man. Aitch lived life to the fullest - taking "big bites" of everything and will be long remembered by all who knew and loved him. Aitch passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013 in Dawson Creek, in his 42nd year. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the George Dawson Inn Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Aitch's family were pleased to welcome a very special person to the service: Miranda Sheets.
