Obituary of Bill Bouck

William Leland Bouck was the fourth child born to Lee and Peggy Bouck on April 10th,1941 in Cremona, Alberta. He spent his early years in the Cremona/Didsbury area. Bill attended school until grade eight and then went into the work force. In 1961, the Bouck family came to homestead in Bonanza, AB. Bill and his dad filed on the home section where Bill lived for the rest of his life. Bill learned at a very young age how to operate heavy equipment and eventually purchased his own cat. He worked for the Department of Highways for over 25 years. Bill and his brothers Roy and Rob also formed a company, Bouck Brothers Construction. Bill later retired from the Department of Highways, and concentrated on farming and raising cattle. Audrey came to Bonanza in 1997 to help look after my Grandma. After grandma passed away Audrey stayed and became a part of our Bouck family. At our Bouck Christmas's there is always one or two jigsaw puzzles being put together. Uncle Bill would walk over and pretend to be interested in the puzzle when in fact he was putting a piece in his pocket. That way he would always be the one to finish the puzzle. He could also play a mean game of One Eyed Jacks, which was one of his favorite games. Bill was an avid John Deere Fan and collector, and he was also a Ford man through and through and there was no convincing him otherwise. He loved puffed wheat squares, matrimonial cake, and my mom Leona made raisin pie every year at Christmas especially for Uncle Bill. He loved a good Auction sale and hardly ever missed going to one; 4-H, cattle, or a farm sale he attended as many as he could. Whenever he was asked: what did you buy? He would reply with a big smile and say "coffee and a cheeseburger." Bill was wise, fair, kind, and gentle. He was a great man with a big heart and we will miss him dearly. Bill passed away at home on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the age of 71 years. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm Alberta time at the Bonanza Hall. Pastor Gary Henderson officiated, interment followed in the Bonanza Hillhaven Cemetery. Bill is survived by his partner of 17 years; Audrey Charlton and her family, sister; Jean Umbach (Ken), brothers; Roy (Jeanie) Bouck, Robert (Leslie) Bouck, Bruce Bouck and many special friends.
