Obituary of Arno Josef Kreuzinger
Arno Josef Kreuzinger 1925 - 2013 Arno (Arnold) Kreuzinger, devoted husband, father and grandfather, a resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. and former resident of Tomslake, B.C. passed away on May 27, 2013 in Dawson Creek, B.C. at 87 years of age. He was born on August 22, 1925 in Schoenbach, Czechoslovakia to Josef and Franziska Kreuzinger. In 1939, along with his parents and his brother Walter, he immigrated to Canada and lived in Tomslake BC. It was during this time that he met Edith and they were married in 1950. They continued to live in Tomslake until 1960 when they then moved to Dawson Creek. Dad lived in Tomslake during his early years where he farmed and also ran the local store. After moving to Dawson Creek he initially worked at the Dawson Hotel and then spent many years running the Crest Theatre and Ranch Drive-in with his wife, Edith. Dad loved his early years on the farm and he always liked to see how the crops were doing and this carried on in his life as he was always concerned about the weather's impact. Arno was predeceased by his wife Edith; parents Josef and Franziska Kreuzinger; son Karli; and brother Walter. Arno is survived and fondly remembered by his children Erwin (Marilyn) Kreuzinger of Dawson Creek; Carol (Mark) Webster of Adelaide, Australia; Tony (Jenny) Kreuzinger of Kitimat, B.C.; Tom Kreuzinger of Dawson Creek; and Terry (Susan) Kreuzinger of Dawson Creek.
He also leaves nine grandchildren: Ian, Andrea, Alicia, Jesse, Bowen, Brenden, David, Ashleigh, Hayden, and 5 great grandchildren. Dad's last wishes were to be with his wife Edith and son Karli, so his ashes will be interred in Tomslake BC. Dad lived at Rotary Manor the past number of years and we owe them a debt of gratitude for caring for our Dad. Expressions of sympathy may be made in memory of Arno by way of donation to: The Tomslake Cemetery Society c/o P.O. Box 107 Tomslake, British Columbia V0C 2L0 No service will be held at Dad's request.
