Obituary of Kent Nornberg

Kent Helverskov Nornberg was born on July 30, 1955 in Calgary, Alberta to parents Hans and Ebba Nornberg. Kent went to school in Crestomere and Ponoka, Alberta, then eventually he moved to Dawson Creek in 1974 and went to work for his brother Neil in the body shop. In 1983 Kent moved to Calgary, Alberta, where he met the love of his life Sherry Merasty in 1985. They were married on December 13, 1986 and on December 31they moved to Dawson Creek where they made their home. Kent loved animals especially dogs, in fact he and Sherry ran a dog kennel, Kay-9, from 1997 to 2011. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, and outdoor activities and in later years Kent and Sherry travelled to Hawaii and Mexico. It was no secret that Kent loved having company over and visiting with his friends. Kent will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Kent passed away on Monday, August 12, 2013 in Dawson Creek, at the age of 58 years. A celebration of Kent's life was held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 3:00pm to 7:00pm at their home in Dawson Creek. Kent was predeceased by his parents; Hans and Ebba, brother; Poul, brother-in-law; Don Laing, mother-in-law; Elsie Merasty, brother-in-law; Eddie and sisters-in-law; Pat and Donna. Kent is survived by his loving wife; Sherry of 26 years, Sisters; Hanne (Stig), Inger, Brothers; Morris (Helen), Neil, and Bent, father-in-law; Ernest Merasty, sisters-in-law; Debbie, Bonnie (Marty), Pam, Shirley and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
