Obituary of David Jones

David Jones was born in Shouldice Alberta on September 25, 1932 to John Paul and Laura Jones. He was the eldest of eight boys and two girls. David's parents owned a farm near a tiny town named Arrowwood where he attended school. Growing up on a farm he had learned the responsibilities of farm life and worked hard helping granddad. David loved riding horses and took the opportunity every chance he could to be up on that horse. He finished school and when he was twenty he decided to join the Air Force. At the age of twenty one he was stationed at Greenwood Air Force base in Nova Scotia. It was here at a lake with friends that David had met a beautiful girl; her name was Elizabeth Frost. Two years later they were married. David and Elizabeth settled in Calgary, Alberta where he worked in a meat packing plant for the city. This is also where they started their family of four children; Tracey, Michele, Darcy and Dana. It was also during this time that he had bought his first motorcycle and he joined the bike club. After eight years in Calgary the family moved to White Rock, BC where he got a job driving fuel truck and bought his first Indian motorcycle. Three years later the family moved to Fort St. John where David worked in a machine shop. In 1970, David and Elizabeth bought a quarter section of land 15 miles east of Chetwynd, BC. David started working for the department of highways and had worked very hard to make this property a home and farm. In 1979, they moved and bought property out in East Pine where David enjoyed riding horses and his motorcycle. He joined the bike club in Chetwynd and enjoyed many years of riding with many great people. David passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013 in Chetwynd at the age of 81 years. He was a great man and will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Chetwynd Fellowship Baptist Church, Chetwynd, B.C. Pastor Jonha Emke officiated, interment followed in the Tuscoola Mountain Cemetery. David was predeceased by his Son; Tracy Jones and Parents; Laura and Paul Jones. David is survived by his loving Wife of 58 years; Elizabeth, Children; Michele (Jim), Darcy (Deb), Dana (Lenora), Grandchildren; Melissa Storti, Glen Jones, James Bice, Justin Bice, Mike Jones, Corey Jones, Great Grandchildren; Aften, Ella, Mia, Cara, Austin, Tristen, Gage, Annika, Evan, Ava, Wesley and Jasmine.
