Obituary of Annie Olsen

Annie (Livingstone) Olsen 1928-2014 Anne was born in Pouce Coupe on October 18, 1928 and grew up in the Progress area and passed away peacefully, January 28, 2014 in the Dawson Creek hospital a short time after her diagnosis with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Chester, in 2007. She is survived by her children Glenn (Cindy), Linda (John) Bergh, Wayne (Gwenda), her grandchildren Jessie Olsen (Jason Lenart), Keenan, Johan (Monika) Bergh, Wesley (Erika) Bergh, Lane, Kayle (Sheldon) Mattson; and her six Great Grandchildren, Kashton, Elliot, Alexander, Leif, Brooklyn and Khyden. Her sisters Verna (Paul) Hill and Eva Thompson. As well as many extended family and friends. Anne was very active in Dawson Creek, and is well known for her baking, in particular her lefse and bread and buns. She was very active in her church, served many years on council and in the Ladies Group, where she helped by making quilts, knitting afghans, and toques and mitts for the needy. She was an avid Ball player in her youth, five pin bowler after her marriage and later in life a card player in particular Bridge. Anne and Chester loved camping and fishing, and drove their motorhome across Canada and up the Dempster Highway. Anne was also an avid gardener, and after moving into Heritage Heights after Chester's passing, she spent many hours tending the plants and flower gardens. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Expressions of Sympathy may be made in memory of Anne by way of donation to BC Children's Hospital, 4480 Oak St, Vancouver, British Columbia V6H 3V4.
