Obituary of Gary Halverson
Gary Halverson 1966 - 2014 James Gary Benson Halverson most commonly known as Gary Halverson resident of Dawson Creek, British Columbia passed away on January 28, 2014 at 47 years of age. He was born on September 4, 1966 in Vancouver, British Columbia to Gerry and Marilyn Halverson. Gary adored his parents and loved growing up in Dawson Creek. Gary loved hockey and was an avid oilers fan. He played sports action and toto and was very attached to his Iphone. He always made people laugh by telling a joke. Gary lived most of his life in Dawson Creek and always loved travelling to hockey tournaments. At the age of ten his father Gerry taught him to operate farm equipment which he enjoyed. He worked at Louisiana Pacific for 17 years and then various oilfield companies ending up at Macro International Pipeline Division. A job he loved and was made foreman just prior to his passing.
Hockey was his passion and once was scouted for the NHL. He enjoyed all music Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and dance music. Gary should have been a hockey D.J. He did a great Kermit the frog and could recite caddy shack word for word. He attended Parkhill Elementary, Central Junior High, Bethel Pentecostal and graduated in Summerland. Gary is survived by Mark, Kathy, Keenan and Ethan Halverson and Mylene, Shane, Kelsie, Daniel, and Travis Roth. As well as his best friend Eddy Tuckwood and family. A memorial service was held on Friday, February 7, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Dawson Creek Alliance Church. Pastor Michael Benty officiated.
