Obituary of Misty Franklin

Misty Franklin, a resident of Edmonton, Alberta formerly of Chetwynd, B.C. passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 34 years. Misty Joy Isabelle Franklin was born on September 28, 1979 at St. John's Hospital in Vanderhoof, B.C. She was the most beautiful baby with her long fingers and big dark eyes which later turned green. The nurses joked how she was going to grow up to be a great piano player. She was a very happy little girl until her sister Daphne came along. It took her awhile to adjust not being the baby anymore. Growing up Misty and Cheryl were great friends and were a great team picking on poor Daphne. The girls grew up in the country always right beside Grandma and Grandpa Franklin. Grandpa feeding them chocolate bars and Grandma feeding them supper before they had to go home to eat the supper their mom had made for them. Grandma and Grandpa were always a big part of their lives, everyone knew not to mess with them or they would have to face the wrath of Grandma. She was very protective of her girls. Misty loved riding her horse Diamond and loved to surround herself with sunflowers. At a young age Misty became the proud mother of her beautiful daughter Shianne. Shianne was Misty's pride and joy. She enjoyed taking her fishing, hunting and camping. A few years later she completed her family with another baby girl, Brooklynn. Brooklynn was her ray of sunshine. Both Shianne and Brooklynn were Misty's life, always on the go and always having fun. Motherhood was very special to Misty and her girls were always number one. Misty was an unbelievably strong, courageous, caring, forgiving, amazing person who always found the good in any situation and was always the one to make you laugh when all you wanted to do was cry. Anyone who met Misty fell in love with her. Misty was at peace when she passed with her family by her side and we feel grateful knowing she is no longer suffering and in God's arms. Misty was predeceased by her grandfather Ken Franklin, and great grandmother Ida Masdell. Misty is survived by her daughters Shianne Gullackson and Brooklynn Bjerg, her mother Barb (Glen Berlinger) Martin, her father Ken (Maria Wallace) Franklin, grandmothers Sue Franklin and Alice Seargeant, sisters Daphne Nichols, Cheryl Franklin and their families, Devaney and brother Devin, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Chetwynd Fellowship Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Evans officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
