Obituary of Timothy Wayne Reinitz

Tim Reinitz, a lifelong resident of Dawson Creek, B.C. passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 in Dawson Creek at the age of 50 years. Timothy Wayne Reinitz was born on January 15, 1964. He was the seventh child to Herman and Margie Reinitz. Tim was born and raised in Dawson Creek. As a baby he was cute and cuddly, and at an early age he showed determination. Tim started school at Irvine Dean. When Irvine Dean closed we moved to Dawson Creek Elementary, which later changed to O Brien. He carried on his schooling at Frank Ross and was always making friends along the way. When he was 17 he bought Granny's old Rebel car and enjoyed driving. He later bought his sister's Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon and lifted it. Tim had the ability to be a mechanic from growing up on the farm. He was great with motors and fixing anything. He could run a tractor, a loader, you name it. He loved working. Tim's life changed in 1988 when he had an accident that left him with a brain injury. What seemed easy before became much harder for him. Tim was a kind, gentle soul who loved to walk every day and even sometimes all day around his hometown of Dawson Creek. He was noticed by many as the man with the beard and cane that walked 8th Street. He liked his own house and his independence where he nourished a little tree and watched it grow into a strong trunk. Tim was proud of his single tree. Tim had a great sense of humor and was genuine. Tim will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Dawson Creek. Reverend Noel Smith officiated. Interment will be at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Tim to the Northern Brain Injury Association of B.C. 1237-4th Avenue, Prince George, B.C.
