Obituary of Kay Thompson

Kay Thompson 1927 - 2014 (Kateryna) Kay Thompson passed away on March 14, 2014.She was born in Saskatchewan on May 2, 1927 to Fedor and Kateryna Dudiak and was one of 11 children. When Kay was 16 years old she moved to the Rolla area and lived the rest of her life there on her farm. She farmed the land and drove all the equipment. In 1945 Kay gave birth to her first son Roy. A short 2 years later in 1947 a second son Dave was born. Then to her surprise and others, Wade was the last to arrive in 1961. Kay made many friends wherever she traveled. In 1985 she married her companion of many years Mike Rush. She always planted a huge garden that seemed large enough to supply food to a small country. The flowers in her yard were always changing as she moved them around until she found just the right spot. She was especially close to Shelby and Nash. The kids spent many hours at the farm helping Grandma Kay with her chores, being spoiled at the same time. Dear grandma Kay, On Friday the 14th Heaven gained an angel and we lost a grandma. Grandma Kay was a loving, caring, and compassionate woman who will be dearly missed. Love Shelby Kay leaves to mourn her passing: sons Roy (Joyce) Thompson, Wade (Minna) Thompson; daughter in-law Pearl Thompson; grandchildren Troy, and Ginger Thompson, Lorraine (Scott) Jamieson, Louise (Dave) Thompson-Wheeler, Shelby, and Nash Thompson; great-grandchildren Trish and Chloe Thompson, Michael and Megan Jamieson, Jacob and James Thompson; her sister Elsie Rofe and many nieces and nephews. Kay is pre-deceased by her husband Mike Rush; her son Dave Thompson; and grandson Kurt Thompson. As Kay requested no service will be held.
