Obituary of John Raymond Schill
John Raymond Eugene Schill, was born to Frank and Marie Schill in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, on August 7, 1946. On Sept. 11, 2014 John gave up his brave fight with cancer and left this earth to join his parents and sister, Marge Low, and many friends who have already passed on.
Anyone who knew John, knows what a "go getter" he was, and he stayed that way till the end. John lived his life his way. He was always busy, going here or there, fixing something, painting, or tending his plants.
John's journeys were numerous in life, and took him from British Columbia to the Yukon, Alberta, and finally Wishart, Saskatchewan. Along the way, with boyish charm, he always shook a hand and made everlasting friends. A devoted family man, he never forgot birthdays or special occasions. As his kids grew, so did their closeness. Family and friends were only a phone call away. John was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need!
John was a strong man, but so kind he wouldn't kill a spider and he taught his grandchildren bugs are useful. His love for animals was profound. He always had a dog walking by his side. It didn't stop there. He always had a stray or 10 on his doorstep. It was too cold outside for the cats, the dogs needed a home and so did the mice, until he found out there was such a thing as live traps. John was a very kind man with a loving soul and a great sense of humour!
Left to mourn are: his children, son John Jr., and daughter Laurel, their mom Diane Myshak and Willie (whom he called his husband in-law), brother Frank (Lou) Schill, common-law wife Violet Johnson, stepchildren Maureen, Jonny, Whitney, and Elisabeth, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. John left a legacy much more than a few words can say! His memory will live on in many hearts far and wide!
