Obituary of Emily Semple
Emily Semple Emily (Fellers) Semple passed away on May 31, 2015 at the age of 96. Emily was born in Dupuyer, Montana on November 11, 1918 to Julian and Ada Fellers. In the spring of 1920 the family arrived in the Peace River country by covered wagon. She grew up first in what is now the Arras district and later Fellers Heights. She attended Springhill School and had a happy childhood with lots of cousins nearby. In 1940 she married Lloyd Semple and spent over forty years living and working with him on the farm at Bessborough. In later years, when she was a widow, she retired to Dawson Creek and enjoyed good years with friends and family before failing health forced her into a care home. Emily was predeceased by her parents, Julian and Ada Fellers, her brothers, Nibs, Bud, Harold, and Herb, and her sister, Hattie. She leaves to mourn her passing, son, Leslie (Anita Parr); daughter, Vivian (Denis Dechief); grandsons, Lyle Dechief and Randy Parr; granddaughter, Diane Dechief, brother, Bruce; sister-in-law, June, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service for Emily will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the South Peace United Church at 1300-104 Ave., Dawson Creek, B.C. Donations in memory of Emily can be made to Rotary Manor, 1121- 90 Avenue, Dawson Creek, B.C. V1G 5A3. These funds help the residents with activities and equipment to make their life better.
