The Métis Nation British Columbia has recently learned of the passing of our dear friend and Métis Women’s Representative for the North East Region Ms. Sharon Payou. Sharon passed away on December 31st in her home in Dawson Creek, BC. Sharon was very proud and committed to her work in supporting Métis Women in her community and region within her role as a Regional Métis Women's Representative for the MNBC Ministry of Métis Women. So saddened to hear of my friend Sharon's passing. My sincere sympathy and love to her family and friends. Sharon and I served the Metis Nation BC together as women's representatives for our regions. That's how we met and I am lucky to have known her. I will miss her sense of humour, her strength and her faith. I will miss her text messages and phone calls - especially the late night ones. Sharon will be remembered as a tireless volunteer - always ready to help someone less fortunate. She will be looking down from heaven - a new angel, checking up on everyone especially her grandchildren. Goodbye my friend. You were taken from us too soon, somehow part of God's plan. As Sharon always said, GOD BLESS.
