Obituary of Joan Haddow
Eulogy for Joan Haddow - By Addison Haddow Born as Marilyn Joan Haupt, known as Joan on January 4, 1936 in Saskatchewan. She was adopted by Ella and Lyle Meashaw in October 1937 becoming part of the family with brother Delbert. Later joined by sisters Beth and Judy. She attended school in the Whitelaw area. Great Grandma spent her teen's years working in the logging camp in the Bay Tree area. Later moving to Fort St. John where she met and married Walter Haddow on November 14, 1953. They moved to Edson and had daughter Sharon in 1954, they moved back to Dawson Creek where son Randy, in 1956 and daughter Leanne in 1964 were born. In the later years Great Grandma loved to bowl and was a very successful bowler with lots of trophies. She worked in the Rexall Drug store for several years. After Great grandma and Great grandpa's marriage ended in the early 70's, she met Arthur Mohr who became her lifelong partner. In the later years she worked at the Dawson Coop for several years before moving to Chilliwack with Art. After her mom passed away in Chilliwack great Grandma and Grandpa Art moved back to where their family was in Dawson Creek. Great grandma was a very strong willed, out spoken, generous person. She touched many lives. She is survived by her 3 children, their spouses, 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, Sister Judy and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by Arts children, spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is now at peace and will be sadly missed by all that knew her.
