Dear Marie and family, I'm so sorry for your loss.Uncle Doug was such a kind, funny family man. He had so much love for the West. I especially loved your stories on your train ride here. You always made my dad's face light up when you came to visit. He couldn't wait to come see You, summer after summer. You will be sadly missed by all. Take care everyone. Sorry we are not there to celebrate Uncle Doug's life. Love Kim ,Mike ,Josh ,Tanner and samantha

Farewell My Brother Doug
I remember when God sent you to us Doug. I was standing in the lane on our old farm. The lane was blocked with snow. Doctor Haine was carrying you and our mother was walking in beside him. They were up to their knees in snow. That was the start of our friendship. God couldn't have given me a better friend and brother. We had many good years together, especially the times Joan and I spent with you and Marie at your place. We went on lots of game runs to see the wild game. Doug always said buckleys was good and the fish were always bigger in Moonshine Lake. I will miss the chats at night in the house. You had a hard start there but you had a good wife and raised a wonderful family. I just wish I could have been there when you fell down and seen God pick you up and take you back home. Goodbye Doug, Your Brother Vince.
