Obituary of Dale Christenson

Dale Erwin Christenson 1923-2018 Dale was born at home in Acme, Alberta on September 14, 1923. He was one of a family of nine children which included 2 brothers and 6 sisters. Dale in his early years worked on a cattle ranch in Banff, Alberta for Brewster Ranch. He met and married Joyce Smith who worked as a waitress in Carstairs. During this time, he began a drey service before starting work for Hislop Construction in Leduc. The family moved to the Peace country in 1957 with short stints in Dease Lake and Cassiar. In 1958 he moved to Dawson Creek and started work with Reg Norman Trucking, where he stayed for 30 plus years until his retirement. Dale loved camping, hunting, and playing crib. Dale passed away peacefully at Rotary Manor with his family surrounding him on May 29, 2018 at the age of 94. His wife Joyce had preceded his death and passed away January 22, 2014. Dale is survived by his sons Gerry (Lori), Dan (Brenda), Richard (Penny), Barry (Flora), Boyd (Paula), and only daughter Bev (Dennis), 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held June 9, 2018 at the Pouce Coupe Seniors Hall at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Pouce Coupe. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the South Peace Hospice Palliative Society, Room #101, 816 103rd Ave, Dawson Creek, BC V1G 2G7.
