Obituary of Bob Thompson

Bob Thompson 1956-2018 Robert "Bob" Thompson, resident of Pouce Coupe, passed away on October 24, 2018 at the age of 62. The twelfth of thirteen children, Bob was born and raised on the family homestead just outside of Pouce. As a child, Bob liked nothing more than to escape into a thrilling book, and as he grew up, he began to seek out those adventures himself. Whether it was hunting or fishing, camping, motor biking, or getting into trouble with his friends, Bob loved the outdoors. After graduating, he worked for the Department of Highways as a journeyman bridge builder. He married Debbie Radford in 1977 with his eldest daughter born shortly after. The family moved to Fort Nelson for work in the mills where they had a few good years together before parting ways. Bob moved back to Pouce Coupe and the bridge crew. He met Kelly Deschover, and they were married in 1984. Another daughter, then a son, several moves around the area, a switch to the private sector, then a business built around his hobby of tinkering on ATV's in the dozen years they were together. He spent some time working out at camps, then settled back in Pouce and worked as a heavy equipment operator for many local companies. Bob loved his little place, and quite often could be found puttering around it, cutting the grass or planting wild flowers. He liked to wander over to the pub for some dinner and dancing, and catching up with friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, taking them out fishing, tossing a ball at the park, or just hearing about their news. He still loved his adventures, getting out on the lake or early morning hunting, bike trips and camping as often as possible, and the company of those who joined him. He leaves behind his three children Jennifer, Karlyn (Chris), and Scott; six grandchildren Samantha, Evan, Abigayle, Seth, Isabelle, and Liam; and too many family and friends to count. An inurment service will be held privately for close family and friends. You are invited to join them for refreshments at the Pouce Coupe Legion on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1100 Alward Street, Prince George, British Columbia V2M 7B1. Service 11:00 am Saturday, November 10, 2018 Pouce Coupe Legion Hall 5009 - 47 Avenue POUCE COUPE, British Columbia, Canada V0C 2C0
