Obituary of Rodger Nelson

Rodger B. Nelson, a longtime resident of Dawson Creek, passed away at home on January 11, 2019 at the age of 74. Rodger was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland on January 8, 1945 to parents Melvin and Elizabeth Nelson and arrived in Saskatchewan in 1946 before travelling to New Westminster, BC. In 1951, after a return trip to Scotland, Rodger arrived in Dawson Creek. Rodger attended school in Dawson Creek, then pursued his career as a pipefitter. Rodger was predeceased by his father Melvin in 1992; mother Betty in 1998; and daughter Sheri in 2008. Rodger is survived by his loving spouse of 30 years Linda Riviere; daughter Julie (Russ); grandchildren David; Jonah; Joshua; Rachel; daughter Lori (Jeff); grandsons Jamie and Mitchell; grandsons Kohl and Kody; Sister Irene (Gary); nephews Dean and Spencer; Lance and Shane Riviere and grandson Tylor. Rodgers family and friends gathered for a private social tea to celebrate his life in Reynars reception hall on Friday, January 18, 2019. Very respectfully Reynars Funeral Home and Crematorium
