I was very sad to read of the death of my old pen friend Brian. We were penfriends for many years from just after he moved to Canada. It was a pleasure to read about his live as he traveled around Canada. I am disabled at the time confined to a wheelchair and not able to get out much. Brian’s letters brought Canada alive to me. Sadly we lost touch not long after he met the lovely Lucie because I moved and I lost their address. Brian was a lovely person. My condolences to his lovely family. I now live in Morecambe, not far from where is mum and dad lived.

It is with sadness that I heard of the passing of my good friend, Brian. We have known each other for over 50 years since before we emigrated to Canada together in 1969. We both grew up in Bolton, Lancashire and we both wanted a better life so we decided to come to Canada. We have kept in touch by phone over the years with all our different moves around Canada. I will miss his friendship and our conversations. Condolences to his wife Lucie and family back in England. David Kay
