Obituary of Sean McGarry
It is with great sadness that our beloved Sean Patrick Michael McGarry of Dawson Creek, BC, passed away on November 28, 2020 on the Bijoux Trail near Powder King, where he was struck by an avalanche.
Sean was born in Fort Nelson, BC to Neal and Lisa McGarry on September 29, 1985. He grew up in Chetwynd and the surrounding area and graduated from Chetwynd Secondary School in 2003. He then continued his education at BCIT where he became a Power Engineer. He worked for Encana Corporation for the past 15 years and continued to do so until his passing.
At a very early age, Sean developed a love of all sports and a special passion for outdoor mountain sports. He enjoyed hiking, fishing, hockey, quadding and most of all sledding and snowboarding.
Sean sought adventure at every turn, whether it be during various travels abroad to countries across the world, or finding solace in the tranquility of the mountains. He was a man of the north and a man of the mountains. He was motivated to succeed and although his life was short, the impact he made was powerful on many.
He is survived by his wife Nikki (Brennan) McGarry, son Maverick and unborn baby on the way. Other survivors include: parents Neal and Lisa McGarry, grandmother Therese Wiwchar, brothers Jordee (Asuka) and Trent (Katie) McGarry. He was also a special uncle to his three nieces and one nephew.
Sean had too many friends to be contained to a list. His sense of humour was infectious, often bringing others to tears with his witty analogies of life. Sean was always one to make others feel welcome. He was confident, but not boastful. One look at his cheeky smile and you couldnt help but fall in love. Though he may not be among us here, there is no doubt he is looking down on us wanting us to enjoy life to the fullest. In his passing, Seans memory will live on through all of us.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
