Obituary of Robert Kettner
In loving memory of Robert Roy Kettner, December 23, 1941 January 29, 2021,
A devoted husband, loving father, wonderful grandfather and amazing great-grandfather.
Bob passed away on the morning of January 29th, leaving behind a family who will love him and miss him. We will tell stories of his twinkling eyes, and teasing ways for many years to come, and share a laugh or two remembering him.
His life was a long one, and so he will be welcomed into the afterlife by the arms and souls of many from his parents, to his siblings and in-laws. Bob was beloved by the family that has already passed, and those of us who will remember him forever.
He was peaceful in his passing, watched over by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Dian Kettner. He is survived by his two children, Yvonne (Lorne) Hussey and Duane (Marj) Kettner, and his grandchildren, Daneka (Adam Hughes) Hussey and Ward (Amy Nyce) Hussey, as well as his great-granddaughter, Arriah Hussey. We will mourn him, and miss him always.
So too, will his extended family and friends. Bob was not only a father to his own children, but loved their friends as his own and his grandchildrens friends as if they were family as well. He was Poppa to a great many people. He taught us all so much to take time for a cup of coffee, to visit with each other, to record memories to look back on later, to help your neighbours and family and to always have a good cowboy hat to wear out for a night of dancing. A wonderful neighbour and friend, his lessons in helping others are an example we should all take to heart.
There will be no funeral at this time, though his ashes will be buried at the Sunset Prairie Cemetery in the summer of 2021.
Oh, the last goodbyes the hardest one to say and this is where the cowboy rides away. George Strait
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
