So sad to hear of Marnie’s passing. She was a person with an abundance of humour and energy. I will always cherish the time we went to see Anne Murray in Grande Praire. Marnie loved the music and the banter Ann Murray had with the audience. What a fun evening. My condolences to Marnie’s family and friends.

I’m very sad to say good-bye to a special family friend today. Marnie was a lifelong friend. There are so many things that I Ioved about Marnie and she taught me so many things in life. Marnie was the same age as me, and growing up together as family friends, she taught me understanding of others needs, as she was gifted in so many ways. In my grad year, the school system finally integrated special needs students into schools, but still in a segregated sort of way. Marnie taught me understanding in a new way, as our CR rec 12 class worked alongside Marnie and her team in recreational activities. I think back now as a 53 year old what a lifelong friend with special needs taught me. She taught me understanding and patience for people who need extra help. I saw Marnie for who she was and always will be to me - a young, vibrant woman who had interests and attitude, someone who had the ability to express herself non-verbally, in ways that you knew what she was saying, very clearly! I’m thankful for my memories of Marnie. Love you Marnie, Pat and Christopher.
