Obituary of Roy Hede
It is with great sadness that the family of Roy (Rudy) Hede announces his passing in Dawson Creek BC, April 26 2021in his home at the age of 72 years.
He was born in Clarkdon, Ontario, and grew up in Silver Mountain, Ontario. The family then moved to Port Arthur, Ontario.
Roy worked for a number of years as a timber company clerk in northern Ontario. He married Rita Koski in 1972 and moved west. In Prince George, BC, he worked in the timber industry as a skidder operator for a number of years.
He loved his family, was an avid reader, and loved music. He was always quick to lend a hand, was a kind and generous spirit, and had wicked sense of humour. He made many friends and is remembered with great affection.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, William Hede and Bambie Hyyryla, his brothers, Glenn Hede and Kim Hyyryla, and nephew Bryan Hannula.
He is survived by his children, Jonathon (Michelle), James (Mai), and grandson Kristian, his sisters Sheena Hannula (Allan), Bambi Kriikkula (Marty), Arlene March (David), Sister In-Law Becky Hede, many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
His family would also like to give a heart-felt thanks to the health team that cared for him, and to the angels from Native Housing, in Dawson Creek. They helped him with keeping in contact with his family.
A celebration of Roys life will be held in Thunder Bay, Ontario at a later date.
