Obituary of Anne Cook
ANNE COOK: It is with great sadness that the family of Jill Elizabeth Anne Cook (Anne), aged 86, long-time resident of Dawson Creek, announce her passing.
Anne was born in High Wycombe, England - October 9th, 1934. Anne met her late husband, John at a school dance in Burnham, England. They enjoyed attending opera, classical concerts and West End shows in London. Anne worked as a Pharmaceutical Chemist and studied horticulture and teacher training at Caerleon College in South Wales. In 1974, Anne and John moved their family to Canada. Dawson Creek became home for many years before Annes recent move to Qualicum Beach. Anne leaves behind a legacy with School District #59. She worked as a School Psychologist and started the Learning and Diagnostic Centre. Anne will be remembered fondly by many students and teachers in the community. Anne had a passion for gardening and the outdoors. She boasted beautiful flower gardens every year in Dawson Creek that were admired by the community. Anne will be remembered for her kind, caring and compassionate demeanor and her love for nature.
Anne passed away in Qualicum Beach, BC at the age of 86. She is predeceased by her mother, Mary Hooper and her late husband, John Maitland Cook.
Anne is survived by her son, Graham Cook (Ineke), grandsons, Jason and Mark Spencer, granddaughters, Kaitlyn Coombs, Sarah Haugen and Rosalynd Cook, great-granddaughters, Naomi Spencer, Lenyn Coombs, Lyla Haugen, Hunter Haugen and great-grandsons, Nevin Spencer, Liam Coombs and Max Spencer.
