My condolences to the family. Al and I worked in the olfield, bbq, fished, hunted together since the early eighties. Went to Jade City and did some fishing and prospecting. Didnt find any gold. We have always kept in touch. You will be missed Al.

Alan (only my mother gets to call me that ty he would say to me ) was one of my best friends we shared a lot of the same values and work ethics ..you taught me how jobs should be run and how to live life…one of my first encounters with al was: I got a call from dispatch and I was to meet this encana inspector at one of the sites i had worked on before, pick up the two ball valves and get on the road cause your working for a hard ass ..so typical Tyson fashion I worked my helper up into a frazzled mess before we made to site on how we better work our asses off or else this guy will fire us..(I was always messing with my apprentice as he did me too ) so we get to site and al calls me a pussy and throws a 4″ 600# ball valve up on his shoulder starts to walk up the bank loses his footing drops the valve in the mud and then said see if it was you packing it wouldn’t be muddy…( I was in my 20’s so I was pretty worked up about it) the next day we got the same call and al specifically requested me and my helper ..well we sat onsite for 2 hours outta the 8 they said it was gona take to shut the place down ..he walked up to my truck and asked me if I fished so we talked for a bit and he goes , ‶hey I have an extra pole and some chops and ceaser salad (after that summer I was convinced that’s all he knew how to make) let’s go to swan where we still have service and fish till they call us ….that was the start of our friendship….we spent the rest of the summer changing valves and fishing while we waited ….I changed companies a few times so we didn’t see each other that often till I started at platoon then we picked up our friendship ..he was always down for an adventure with his friends ..no matter what it entailed ..he would be there if you asked ..I’m gona miss him dearly ..
