Obituary of Bill Disher
It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Disher, a longtime resident of Chetwynd, British Columbia, on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Bill passed away in Prince George, BC at the age of 68 years.
Bill had a few jobs during his life, but the one he loved the most was working as a Brakeman and later as a Locomotive Engineer for B.C. Rail, and later for CN when they took over for B.C. Rail. He retired from the railway at age 53. Then he went back to work for Tembec, training guys to run a small Locomotive at the Mill and how to switch cars. He then went to Sand Source to manage and set up the plant at the Railway Yard. He finally retired from there after 5 years.
Bill loved nothing better than to get together with family, especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving for turkey dinners, or camping and fish fries.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 1PM at the Chetwynd Fellowship Baptist Church. Pastor Bill Evans will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Chetwynd & District Hospital Foundation, Box 121, Chetwynd, BC, V0C 1J0.
Very Respectfully, Reynars Funeral Home & Crematorium
